Josh and I thought we should start a blog to keep everyone up-to-date on what's happening in Thailand. We will still continue with our monthly updates, but if you want something more "up to the minute" please remain posted to our bog.

Who are we?

Joshua and Rebekah Baker, that’s who WE are!!(lol) We are a young married couple from Ontario, Canada (Joshua originally from the Perth/Smiths falls area & Rebekah from Bloomfield). We met each other at Wesley Acres Retreat Center and Campground in Bloomfield and were wed a few years later on the 19th of July 2008. Just shortly after our July wedding we headed off to Sriracha, Thailand to begin our God scriptured lives together as missionaries. We are just your average Canadians being ruined for God!

What do we do?

Josh is, at present, a bible college student at Victory Bible College International, Sriracha Thailand (www.victoryasia.com). He is also actively involved with the Continuum Media (T.V.) team here. Josh captures and edits video for the media program which then, when the final product is ready for viewing, gets aired in Canada (The Miracle Channel) to give updates on what's going on in Southeast Asia. Bekah has, just recently since January 2010, made the transition from the English Outreach Center, teaching children English, to the Continuum Magazine department taking on the graphics position. Bekah is head of the graphics department; this includes anything from magazine layouts and ads to banners, flyers, and outreach materials, basically anything pertaining to graphics. Bekah’s main purpose is to get Southeast Asia in your hands and in your hearts, getting you connected with His heart in Thailand.

How can you help?

Giving Through Prayer

Prayer is the greater work in the Kingdom of God. We depend upon your praying more than any other benefit you may give. Our greatest desire is that you continue to lift us up in prayer as we serve God here on the frontlines.

Giving Financially

We are not salaried missionaries so we are thankful and blessed when you desire to partner with us financially, we look to God in faith to provide for our ministry here and living expenses. It goes without saying without our financial and prayer needs being met our mission here in Thailand would not be functioning. We need you! Together we can fulfill Christ’s mandate and proclaim the gospel here in South-East Asia.

Prayer Requests

*May we not lose sight of or be sidetracked from the ministry God has put us in.

*That we and other missionaries will speak the language, read it, and write it fluently to communicate the Gospel the best.

*That the Lord will rise up more faithful prayer and financial supporters that we may pay off the remainder of Josh’s bible college tuition ($400can remaining).

*That God’s hand of power will be upon the ministry here.

The Areas of Ministry here in Sriracha, Thailand: Victory Bible College International, Continuum Media(T.V.), Continuum Magazine, El Shaddai 2 Childrens Home, English Outreach Center, Baby Bloom Nursery(recently being launched), and WMF School of Music & Languages.

*That we will always be surrendered and yielded to God’s will and filled and controlled by His Holy Spirit.

*May The Lord enlarge our coasts, according to His will, and put us where we can best be used by The Lord and for The Lord.

*May all of God’s perfect will be accomplished in us, through us and in the ministry here in Sriracha, Thailand.

*Pray that personal needs will be met here as well as back in Canada. We will be travelling back to Canada April 29th, 2010- Establishing ourselves back in Canada is a time of faith for us – we will be starting from scratch as a married couple. Would you pray that the Lord will provide anything that is needed for our transition off the mission field to Canada? We have witnessed God do miracle after miracle at the Heart of Thailand, as well as personal miracles. We believe that the Lord will do what is needed again.
